Edelbrock carburetor-air cleaner-valve covers. New interior, alternator, new wiring, tachometer, separate gauges, turn-signals. Very good paint on this Calif.
The bed has new wood floor and stake sides. Set up for trailer with hitch. Ford taillights. The snow plow is hydraulic and works perfectly….
New brake cylinders and master cylinder have been added. If you are someone who loves pickups that have all the weird option boxes checked for their particular age than this one is right in your wheel house. We have seen a few crew cab Sweptline trucks over the years but we have never seen one with the long bed option. The truck runs and drives, has a later model big block swapped into it and appears to be largely rust free.
All this stuff is good for sure and in terms of a restoration project the rig seems to be totally intact so it would largely be about cleaning the thing up and reassembling, right? The truck does come with an interesting pile of parts as well including spare doors, axles, and other stuff which could certainly be sold off to make back some of the purchase price.
The fact that it is not a total rat trap with rust and junk falling off of it is great too. The glass is all present, and as we mentioned it is a runner and a driver. Whaddya saw there Daddy Warbucks? Growing up as an Air Force brat, we saw more than a few of these in service in various places like the flight line.
It may be freaky and weird but all I see is a whole lot of ugly! Anything such as this truck. Is only worth what you can get someone to pay for it. I have one of these very trucks. My truck is pretty rare. Its 2 wheel drive like this one. How ever it is a short bed. All that still is just up to what someone will pay for it. My truck is in as good of shape or better than this one.
And as the question was asked ,everyone that watches American Pickers. And they see something kinda like what they own ,they now have a gold mine to sell. Years ago Gas Monkey did a sweptline Dodge. Yes there are some odd freaky rare units that are worth a big check. Like maybe a Kaiser Darin. The sports car with the sliding doors.
But this truck ,not so much. I think high end price for this truck is 6K. I am no expert. Now if you come across a Packard woody in a barn. Yep that may pay off your house. The guy must be smoking grade a weed or hitting the crack pipe a lot. Having said that, remember price sells. Sweptlines are rapidly increasing in value. Every dollar in increased value keeps another one out of the crusher. Supply and demand… merica.
Put it on airbags and slam in a supercharged Hellcat motor. Then it might be worth its selling price….Does it get any better than this? To the victor go the spoils, though, as this survivor-grade truck is pretty tough to top.
The bigger question is, who buys a truck like this and then never uses it? The D wears an attractive mint-green color and the bright color of the lenses, bumper and Dodge lettering on the tailgate all support the low-mileage claims. It would be on a trailer for any show I attended, and otherwise under cover when not being used.
11,000 Original Miles: 1968 Dodge D100
This Dodge D looks quite unrepeatable, and the condition is nothing short of impressive. Would you consider putting up the asking price for such a pristine example, or look for something more usable? Well, I would, but I see cars and trucks as something to use and enjoy, not stare at in a heated, climate-controlled garage.
Of course I think that would cost too much to store them. Instead they just simply rent them out when they need them. In the case of this truck, it would be used in a movie that takes place in But they better not wreck it! Nowadays they have computer technology that can simulate car crashes. I would suspect a but at that time I started to see a lot of s show up.
If this truck came my way I would drive it and use it. Not real hard but it would be seen driving away from the building supplies with the bed full of sheet rock and wood, or headed down to the local machine shop with the engine components from my next project. To own one is to drive it. Nothing about the engine, so It has to be a Which is okay, but at least say as much. If you want to do that, then you ought to get a much newer one with low miles.
To drive this one too much would ruin the low mileage collectibility of it, even if you took perfect care of it. But on the other hand, do not drive it at all also could be bad for it even if it is stored in a perfect environment. Bada bing bada boom. I know there were companies that made those bumpers as a low cost option but, they never appealed to me.

There does appear to be an aftermarket radio installed with some small speakers installed in the doors as well. The exterior looks pleasing as well. The paint and glass looks brilliant, and the thin white walls look the part. The body looks straight as an arrow from the photographs, although we are curious about the condition of the bed and the tailgate. The front end of this 4 year generation D looks very nice.
The grill looks mint and the front body work looks to be in good shape with little to no blemishes. The side mirrors and the glass in this truck looks phenomenal. It is not that often we have seen this body style in the wild, much less an example in this condition. Being low mileage, and in excellent shape makes this a desirable truck that many would love to own.
You could certainly find a place for it at any car event, with a mixture of interest for sure. We think this D would look fantastic towing a small aluminum camper, but there are many options of things to do with this truck.
What would you do with this D? So ugly it is attractive. I want it. In 61 these were referred to as Dart pickups. These with this early style grille are quite hard hard to find nowadays, especially in this condition. Great find. Very tempted but also love my 75 Silverado and it is a little out of range for my bank balance right now.
